I cannot say enough good things about Dr Steven Tucker, an American oncologist who works and lives in Singapore.

I met Dr Tucker in 2006 in Cyprus during a medical tourism conference and we immediately connected. He had just moved to Singapore from Los Angeles, where he ran a very successful practice, to develop new cancer clinics in Singapore, Vietnam and China for a large US-based cancer center.

I have seen Dr Tucker with his patients, and he’s good. He has a very real, very human connection with them, and that makes a huge difference since he specializes in women with breast cancer and men with prostate cancer. These cancers take a deep, emotional toll on patients, and he understands that and it shows.

His clinic is like visiting the UN -- people from everywhere. I like that. It communicates trust. If people are willing to leave their families and homes for medical treatment, it means they trust you. I asked Dr Tucker how he is able to attract such a wide diversity of patients. In typical Dr Steven Tucker fashion, he replied “because I'm a nice jewish doctor from America”. But of course.

I’ve sent several patients to Dr Tucker over the years and each writes back with the same message, “Thanks!”.
