A doctor of pediatrics treats medical conditions like allergies, bone deformity, heart defects, hearing loss, speech, and a myriad of other diseases and conditions.

A doctor of pediatrics performs a wide range of procedures including tonsillectomy, ear tube insertion, eye correction surgery to pediatric cardiac surgery.

Pediatricians, like internists, may sub-specialize in a wide range of disciplines like allergy and immunology, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, nephrology, pulmonology and rheumatology.
