Congenital Heart Disease Treatment

Congenital heart disease is a malformation of the heart that you are born with. There are several types of congenital heart disease and most can be improved with surgery or treated with medicines. The type of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and the child's age and health.

Congenital heart disease includes conditions such as aortic stenosis, hole in the heart (atrial septal defect or ventricular ventral defect) and coronary artery anomoly.

Congenital heart disease treatment includes tests such as CT scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), echocardiogram (ECG) and nuclear imaging, and surgery such as aortic valve replacement, balloon angioplasty, cardiac catheterization and heart transplant.
