Astigmatism is basically an irregular shaped cornea that causes vision problems. AK can help to reduce the degree of the astigmatism, or in minor cases, completely eliminate it. Astigmatic Keratotomy is indicated for people who have minor astigmatism; have been wearing prescription lenses for at least one year; have not had any major eye problems in the past; and do not want wear prescriptive lenses anymore.
